Education system

Comprehension :

1. Katherine Birbalsingh believes that there is a problem with UK's education system. Can you identify it within the first three minutes of the video? What is the problem?

       For Katherine Birbalsingh, "the system is broken because he keeps poor children, poor". So she thinks children are not prepare to their study. Indeed, she says that teacher are not responsible to the children. To her mind, pupils have to be more responsible about their study, because it's not the case : they find excuses for their bad results and they accuse teacher, whereas they have to be responsible to themselves. Katherine Birbalsingh thinks the problem in UK's education is not the teachers but only children, who have to understand that to improve at school, they have to be in competition.

 2. Why does this problem exist according to this teacher?

     According to her, this problem exist because almost all people think that if children have not good results, it's not only their responsibilty but it also because of teachers. So it would be a problem of prejudice. 

3. What do the government ministers think about this problem? Who is to blame for the condition? 

     The first minister who speak says that school is very unfair. He says that teacher can't learn all at children, so it have to regard parents like an element of the education of their child. To him, the government do all he can do, and he support teachers. The second minister say that people believe in teacher. And they say that the problem is a complaints culture, because people would find problems in teachers which would be not justifiable. 

4. Which suggestions does Katherine make to improve the system? 

    She suggests that people be more responsible to themselves and to what they do. And she suggests to not looking after children if they don't have urge to be responsible. 

5. Which changes would Katherine make in the education system if she were given a choice?

    She would give priority to the teachers freedom. She thinks they would have to be more free in their choice of education : free to make difficult exam for example. 

In France 

       France is not a country which has got a good and effective education system. We can speak about several problems. When we are student or teacher the problems are obvious. We can notice, first of all, that the system is not appropriate to the aspirations of the pupils or the students. Indeed, to my mind, they needs more breaks during a day. At school, children have towards 7 or 8 hours a day. It's too long and when they back home, they don't want to study again. But this prolbem can be resolved easily, all the government have to do is to create a better maneer to study, with time to learn lessons at school, where children could be make their homeworks too. Because a problem of fairness is obvious too. And the two problems are link. Indeed, some pupils can be help by their parents after school whereas other pupils can't be help. So we can see a gap between pupils. The governement would put forward an other alternative. What is needed, for me, is to propose a time during school which would be a time of study. Thanks to that, pupils or students could study at school and it would be more fairness.

Mr Bean writing an exam

1)
At the start of the exam :
- we can see that it's write on the board, in large letters, "silence". But when Mr Bean sat down he began to speak with his partner. He answered him "Oh yeah" with a deep odd voice.
- After, always before the exam, he is in competition with his partner for pens... Because he want have more pens on his office than him. So when his partner take a pen, Mr Bean take a pen.
-  All of a sudden, he take in his bag about ten pens and he put it on his office, taunting his partner. And he finished to take a cuddly toy which represent the Pink Panther.

During the exam : 

- When Mr Bean saw the wording of the exam, he looks like completely afraid and he began to fedget.
-  He makes strange things with his face and his exam's sheet, like to blow out the sheet or hide his eyes with his hands.
- One scene shows Mr Bean, with the Pink Panther, was chosing a pen and it's seems to be a difficult choice. 
- He doesn't know the answers of the exam. So he began to cheat, looking the answers of his partner.
- He try to be discreet but he didn't arrive and his partner saw him. After that he pretend to think about his answers and to find.
- But he continued to cheat and trick his partner.
- He makes a very strange shout

Towards the end of the exam :
- He seems to become crazy : he lie down on the table and he blow out the exam of his partner
- He try again to cheat, pretending to search his pen under the table
- He began to cry, saying pathetically "mummy"
- 2 minutes before the end he seems to wake up and he write convulsively somes words about his sheet

             When I have to write an important exam, I try to know my courses very well so when the day arrives, it's not very difficult. But when it's an oral exam, it's much difficult to me because I'm very anxious. in this type of situation I begin to forgot all I know about the course. After, during the exam, I can remember but I continue to tremble. And if I don't know the question or if I am no inspired it's more difficult. When I am writing an exam, I can feel panic. For example, when I take the exam sheet, I hope the question will be easy, and I hope she will be about what I know. But sometimes it's not the case and suddenly, when I see that I couldn't answer the question, I think "I will not arrive". I would like that all the time the exams be easy to me, but even if there are questions which are confused I try to answer something. So I gather one 's thoughts and I do what I can, writing what I think to be right. 

Introduction

Hello ! 
My name is Lea, I'm 19. At present I'm studying literature in Stendhal University at Grenoble. I am in L2 of contemporary literature and if I pass my exams I think that I will continue in L3. I have ever study english and spanish, but I stopped spanish because the option in the Lansad were difficult.
To introduce myself I can say that I live in Grenoble during the week and I live elsewhere the week-end often. I'm on a corent with two girls, who are my friends. And it would seem, according to what our friends said to us, that our apartment is a girls' apartment because it is very colorful. We have a little nice hamster called Khrouchtchev cause he is a dwarf russian hamster. 
I spend time to read classic and contemporary authors because I study them, see my friends, watch videos with my roommates, go to the cinema, make meals with my friend at home or in their flat...  


 I don't know what I could say to you furthermore, but when I would have new ideas, I would add things here..
